Can my Philips Iron stay on the board during intervals?
As your Philips Steam Iron is equipped with OptimalTemp technology, then it is ok for it to stay on the board all the time. It will not damage the ironing board cover.
Can I fill the tank of my Philips Steam Generator during use?
You can refill your Philips steam generator iron’s tank any time, even during ironing, except for the following series: GC6300, GC6400, GC6500
How can I fit my Philips Steam Generator Iron on my ironing board?
The Steam Generator Iron should be placed on a suitable ironing board. When you try to place your steam generator on your regular steam iron board, it may not be suitable as it does not have the proper side tray for your steam generator’s base.
What type of water can I use in my Philips steam generator iron?
The Philips steam generator has been designed to be used with tap water. To prolong the lifespan of your iron it is recommended to use distilled or demineralised water.

The iron is very impressive, it does what it says on the box (almost) and makes ironing less of a chore. It did heat up within 2 minutes and I had steam whenever I needed it. It is nice that you can put the iron down and leave it without fear of burning the board cover. It is also light and glides easily over the fabric.Having had a steam generator iron for nearly 10 years (Tefal) I knew what to expect in terms of noise and a wet floor, and despite this Philips iron being listed as silent steam it is not silent, as with all steam generators there is a lot of noise as the appliance moves water into the boiler (which happens quite often) and the steam coming from the iron as you use it is not ‘silent’, so don’t buy it and expect it to be noise free. The wet floor is something that you have to live with if you use a steam generator, I’m lucky that I use mine in the kitchen that has a tiled floor, if you want to iron in a carpeted room you’ll need to put a waterproof sheet down to catch the drips. Good ventilation is also a pre requisite – the steam does tend to fog up the room! You’ll also need to wipe down the board before you put it away.Having had a Tefal with an automated retractable lead and plug I will have to get used to manually folding the lead on this one to stow it away – not a major thing but it would be nice if Philips could follow Tefal in this, especially given the very high price that they are charging. I would definitely recommend the iron but its price is high which is my only criticism.

The best iron I have ever owned and I have owned rather a lot over the-years. I know it’s rather expensive but definitely worth the money. It makes ironing so easy…

Fantastic iron ..for over 30 years I have swore by Tefal ….but I can gladly say I have jumped ship….I purchased this iron after researching its features…. ..I wanted to have it right away…so I searched where to purchase …John Lewis had them so I raced down there only to find it selling for £520.00…I took my phone out and ordered it on the spot whilst in the John Lewis from Amazon for £350.00 .I have a injury to my arm and therefore cannot lift anything heavy…this iron is so light to lift …and every thing its says it does …I am so impressed there are no lots of different settings it is so intelligent you really can leave the iron on the ironing board without it burning, iron different textures without waiting to cool down. Real easy to use ..cuts ironing time in halfThe only thing missing is retractable cord …but I can live with that. Going to purchase another for holiday. home .

I have had many steam generators over the last decade from morphy Richards to tefal, the latter being my recent one, I only had the tefal one for a few years before it started spitting out brown stuff all over the clothes I was ironing, it had to be the worst steam generator that I had ever had and I didn’t want to make the same mistake again so I researched and did my homework before I made my decision on this Philips one, yes it’s a bit on the pricey side but in my opinion it is worth every penny spent, it’s absolutely amazing, I thought I wouldn’t like the fact that you couldn’t stand it up on the ironing board as I did that with all my others but you get used to leaving it face down on the ironing board as the intelligent system recognises that you’re not moving it so there’s no chance of burning the cover, you have the choice to let the iron put the steam out for you by pressing the on button for two seconds until it lights up white, then you press the button on top till that turns white, all you have to do is start ironing, the steam that it generates is outstanding, the only thing with so much steam is that I have to put a waterproof sheet down on the floor underneath my ironing board to catch the drips but the pros to this product outweighs the cons, I can’t sing this irons praises enough, the best steam generator I’ve ever, ever had, I absolutely love it, now ironing is a pleasure and not a chore!

My last steam generator broke down (no steam coming out and water leaking through the electrics). I gave up and returned to an ordinary iron. My ironing took twice the time and to be honest, did not look like my clothes had been ironed.I studied the latest steam generators and ordered this one. I ordered it and have not looked back since.Having just returned from holiday, I have whizzed through the washing and ironing in a flash – and my clothes are back up to standard!

It’s amazing! A bit fiddly to get used to fitting the water container and locking the iron in place to put away and personally I find the black and hold colour a bit tacky and would’ve preferred white with blue / green/grey. What do I love? Uses very little water so clothes aren’t too damp after ironing. Water from tap recommended. Switches off after 8 minutes if you walk away and forget it. You can put steam on auto and it only steams while you’re actually ironing. No need to set temperature. Iron does it for you. Easy to iron and gets rid of creases with ease. Recommended … and I have always HATED ironing … with a passion!

This iron has changed my life only used it twice but boy it saved me so much time there was clothes I could not iron before and had to put a cloth over them and also change temperature but with this mega machine it goes over everything you will never burn anything again so my hubby can do more ironing too it is expensive but I would say well worth the money. It’s very quiet for a steam generator iron too. I have always had Tefal irons before and wouldn’t go past them but I am sticking with this bad boy. Recommend this to anyone absolutely love love love it
