    I’ve been going through 1 kettle a year for the past decade because of high failure rates or annoying design flaws. This time I thought I’d give Amazon’s own brand a go despite it’s worryingly cheap price. My first impression is that it looks very smart and doesn’t look or feel as cheap as the price tag implies. The lid opens instantly (careful of it flinging drops of boiling water at you if you’ve just boiled it and open the lid to refill) , it’s stable when its placed in its base, and importantly there’s no funny smell or taste.It’s not particularly fast at boiling but when you pour it’s quick without any stray splashes.A week in the kettle is doing well so I have no hesitation in recommending it as it’s better than every kettle I’ve had that’s up to double this price. Well done Amazon, this attractive and practical kettle ticks all the right boxes at an incredible price. If my opinion changes during its lifetime I’ll be back to update my review.
