  1. Chris

I’d been looking to replace my old gaming desktop but was struggling to justify the cost of a premade or the cost of building my own. Then I realised I could buy this using Amazon’s multi-payment system and the choice was very simple after that.So far I’ve used it to play Baldur’s Gate 3, RDR2, and Remnant 2 at 4k. I get solid 60fps in all of them and could go higher but I always limit games to 60fps in the nVidia control panel anyway. At high load the fans aren’t as noisy as some reviews have made out but this is my first gaming laptop so I don’t really have much to compare it against. I do have the laptop angled up from the back to increase airflow so maybe that is the difference. It’s also my first computer where I’ve got a mix of AMD (cpu/gpu) and nVidia hardware but it’s been less of an issue than I thought it might be.It came with Win11 Home which came with a bit of bloatware from Microsoft. I’d read a lot of complaints about the ASUS Armour Crate software but I’ve found it to be really easy to use. I’ve got it set to trigger certain profiles when a game launches or when I’m encoding etc and that’s been good.I can’t speak much about battery life because, as I use it for gaming/video encoding, I’ve always got it plugged it for max performance.Overall extremely satisfied with the purchase and performance. My only criticisms would be:1. 16GB RAM seems a bit stingy. I upgraded to 32gb immediately.2. Installing the RAM (and an extra nvme drive) was a bit of a faff – there were a lot of screws to deal with and the instructions in the manual were slightly unclear. Thank god for youtubers!I won’t knock the score down for those though because 16GB might be enough for some.

I bought this when it was on sale and I’m blown away.I used to say once you go Mac you never go back but I was wrong. This laptop was bought to replace a lost MacBook Pro and I never expected it to be so good in comparison. I don’t miss my Mac at all.Editing is a breeze and the games run so smooth.I’ve upgraded the RAM already which was a pain but I can understand why with the build quality.Audio output to speakers is a bit tinny but then it’s a laptop so just plug in headphones or better speakers.Best laptop I’ve had in a while.

I bought this laptop after researching all the laptops in this price bracket. I have found that the overall best is this one and it didn’t disappoint. The build quality is good and sturdy. The screen has nice colours, great refresh rate, the keyboard is very good and easy to type. The laptop itself performs very well in gaming and thanks to the new gen nVidia graphics card which supports the new version of DLSS all tested games have way over 60FPS with Ray-Tracing on.The laptop can get quite loud in high intensity gaming but the fans can be dialed down using the FN+F5 to change the fan profile. ASUS’s own proprietary app Armour Crate lets you disable the AMD integrated graphics card so it won’t get in the way or create any power draw issues with nVidia drawing the max 140W as shown in the specs.Overall, I recommend this laptop from all the other laptops at this price range.

  4. Shree

Just got the A17 with the 4070 Nvidia GPU and the Ryzen 9 CPU and its able to handle almost any game at max graphics, I’ve tested this on Fortnite, Rocket league, Apex and many other games, so I’d definitely say that this laptop is great value for money and will last you a solid amount of time. Overall, a good investment.

  5. CobsyCobsy

I wanted to buy a decent middle range laptop not for gaming as I’m not a gamer so I settled for this as both Asus and AMD have a history of reliability with me. I enjoy building computers and upgrading laptops and have allways gone with AMD being cheaper for the same amount of power compared to intel. When I read into the specs for this laptop on the Asus web page it states that it supports upto 32GB of DDR5 Ram and upto a 2TB NVME for its primary drive. How wrong that is.As I stated I enjoy upgrading laptops so I ordered Kingston Fury Impact 64GB DDR5 5600Mhz just on the off chance and low and behold this laptop does support 64GB as shown in the Screen shot. Now it will support 64GB however it will only run at 4800Mhz and not 5600Mhz as the BIOS does not give the option of XMP nor does it allow you to set the RAM speed at all.Secondly it states Max 2TB for the primary drive and yet I purchased a WD Black 850X 4TB drive and again as seen in the second screen shot it does support this bigger drive.Hope this information helps.

  6. LDVLDV

Really impressed with this laptop so far, only had it for couple of days, however after trying some of my more intense games (see the benchmark tests of cyberpunk 2077 with pathtracing on and maxxed out settings, warhammer 3 maxxed out settings)Temps were also decent too (tho I’m using a cooling pad) at like mid 70s

  7. Manwards84

After years of slumming it with a laptop that could barely run games from the 90s without slowdown, I decided to get an upgrade. Seeing this model recommended in a lot of “best of” lists and it being at a much more reasonable price than its nearest competitors like Lenovo, I took the plunge and got one.Glad I did. It’s a great-looking and performing machine. Solidly built and the screen is huge and clear. The 165Hz refresh rate is revolutionary to me. Keyboard is comfortable to use. I haven’t tried running any of the latest AAA games on it (not really my style tbh), but I’m playing slightly older games on the highest settings at a rock solid 165 frames per second and it feels amazing. Battery life is as good as all the reviews say. I’ve seen other reviews mention loud fan sounds as a downside, but I personally haven’t noticed anything that would be distracting. If you’re after something with a bit of meat behind it without spending thousands on a bleeding-edge model, then I could happily recommend this one!

  8. Ohan

Value for money is perfect. You will get an excellent performance and quality product. Just put an extra ssd and make ram 32 gb and its better than most desktop computers. 12700H and 8 gb 4060 are capable to run everything on ultra settings, even with ray tracing. 4060 laptops are sweet spot right now, dont pay %40 more for extra %15 performance gain from 4070! Its even same VRam on 4070!

  9. Arwel J.

Wow, im in love, i have a ps5 and wanted to get an xbox series x, ibe been using a steam deck as a main pc for 5 months and gaming in that is ok but its not really powerful enough…this asus tuf 15 with a 4060 in it though…its blown my mind. No need for an xbox now, this thing with a 4069 is running fortnite with dlss active 115fps 144hz and everything maxed out, stunning the pannel is really good quality, and for a laptop the sound is great. Whilst gaming if you put it in turbo mode the fans will ramp up to 6000rpm, its loud, but, when gaming via headset or the speakers the fan noise gets drowned out. In silent mode for browsing and film watching…its ultra whisper quiet. Forza horizon 5 1080p maxed out, dlss…144fps locked it looks stunning. If u have this laptop and game pass…your golden, will play everything you throw at it 1080p max settings for £1,179….this is amazing oerformance, the Ryzen cpu also has integrated graphics so with it on battery 4060 switches off and the 90w battery last a good few hrs for content creation etc….premium laptop too very good keyboard not a huge amount if travel in the keys but its good, and the materials are premium feeling and yes….finger print magnet but what isnt…..very very very impressed.

  10. Martin

The CPU and GPU have got a high max power draw so give you plenty of power aaaand heat. The cooling pipes are great but, the fan curve set to anything but flat out Turbo is not well created. Granted, you can set up custom fan curves in the Armory Crate but aint nobody got time for that. The easiet solution for me was to enable the MUX switch permanantly, yes it has one, and disable the CPU turbo by setting the max power draw to 99% in windows power settings. This brought the temps down from 75c-85c in gaming to 65c-75c. For gaming, there was no FPS drop as the processor isn’t working very hard but idk if it would greatly affect other scenarios. In short, on Turbo the fans are very loud whereas on performance mode, they change from excellent cooling at a high speed and very loud till the temps drop below 60c, then they switch off and after 30 sec you are at 85c again making them roar to life for 30 seconds till the temps drop below 60c again, repeat. I wish there were better fan curves and maybe one day I will create my own but for now the steps I described above work well enough for me.Overall I would recommend this laptop for a good price, which at the time of writing was 1200.00 but not too much more. The screen is also a bit dim in a very bright enviroment but who would want to use it in one like that for gaming anyways?
