I cook a Sunday lunch every week and I already have a large slow cooker. However, since my daughters have got their own houses I only cook a small joint for my wife and myself. My large slow cooker is too large and requires a lot of water to heat up. Also, I use the water for making gravy afterwards and it seemed a waste when I only used a small fraction of it.After reading reviews on various makes of small slow cookers I decided on this crockpot one because it is an ideal size for two people, has a two year guarantee, the pot is dishwasher safe (although I always wash it by hand anyway!) and its price is competitive. The glass lid fits well and although it has a small vent hole it still cooks well. I found the cooker to be stable and the lead sufficiently long. Unlike my large slow cooker, this one does not cause the worktop underneath to get hot. There is still plenty of liquid left to make gravy but it is more concentrated and there is less waste.I’ve used it twice now to cook 500g topside joints. The results were very impressive, in fact I think I cooked them for rather too long especially the second time where it was difficult to slice the joint because it was so tender it tended to fall apart rather than slice. I cooked it for 5 hours on ‘low’ and then switched the cooker to ‘warm’ for about one and a half hours. I’ll cook a joint for less time (maybe 3 – 4 hours) in future and leave it to stand for an hour.I’m very pleased with the slow cooker, it is well made, reasonably priced and cooks superbly. The only negative is, as others have said, it doesn’t have a light to indicate it is on but the other features outweigh this so I can live without it. I particularly like that it has a ‘keep warm’ setting. I presume this is a lower setting than the ‘low’ one.I’m very happy to recommend this slow cooker.

I wanted a small slow cooker to take to self catering accommodation to have a hot meal to come back to and no hassle. This fits the bill, compact and easy to use and produces good results. Others have mentioned the lack of a light as an issue, it doesn’t bother me. A quick touch before I leave it tells me it’s working and the smell of good food when I come in does as well! Perfect size for one or two and simple to use

I needed a smaller slow cooker as my family-sized one was too big for my smaller household. I had bought a different brand and was not happy with its performance so, having had the family-size Crockpot, I went for this smaller Crockpot instead, which was cheaper than the other one and with 300ml extra capacity. For the price, this Crockpot is an absolute bargain. The only thing it doesn’t have is a light to tell you it’s switched on, but for the price and the quality that’s a minor niggle. It’s efficient, easy to clean, and the build quality is great. It might seem a small thing, but the ‘loop-style’ carry handles are easier to get a hold of and feel more secure than the solid flat-style ones, so if you have hand mobility issues that might be a factor to consider. The 1.8litre capacity is perfect for 1 or 2 persons: as an example it will accommodate two 400g tins (e.g. soup, beans, tomatoes, chickpeas, lentils, etc.), three single layers of chopped veg (e.g. potatoes, carrots, onions, peppers, mushrooms), and 200-300g protein (say three boneless chicken thighs, or 2 chicken breasts, or half a pack of diced or minced beef, or half a pack of Quorn cubes) along with seasonings, to make a delicious casserole for 2 people, or for 1 person with a portion to freeze/eat later. And of course there’s rice pudding and lasagna and so on that you can also cook in it. Every household should have a slow cooker, especially now, and this ticks all the boxes for a small one.

I was unsure how this would perform being such a reasonable price, but it is definitely worth the money. Enough room to cook for 2 people. Worked perfectly. Very pleased with purchase.

First impression when I opened the box was it’s going to be to small, boy was I wrong. Since I’ve had it I’ve used it loads and there’s definitely enough room in it to make plenty of food for 2 people. It’s easy to use plug it in turn it on high put your ingredients in lid on and let it do its thing. Food comes out piping hot and you can even turn it on to warm after it’s cooked until your ready for your food. light weight and easy to clean.
