one minor complaint’ the screws to fit the clamps and their holes are very week.

This came flatpacked in a secure box, and boy, is it a great built-in gas hob. It comes with everything you need, is a great size – made to fit most any worktop/hob space, which is neat – and made of pure cast iron. This thing is a beast, and it works so well. Gets very quick, and I haven’t had any problems with it. Reliable, and not too expensive. Great value for money.

I have been looking around for a decent hob that has a good sized Wok burner for a while so when I saw this I just had to have it.We don’t have a gas supply in our kitchen so of coarse my first thoughts were along the lines of an electric version however none of those looked suitable and the specialised induction Wok plates are very expensive. My second thought was to look into my options for being able to use a gas hob when we have no gas so it needed some out of the box thinking, lol.In the end I decided to build this hob into a portable unit that can be used out of doors in a similar way to a gas BBQ. All this has required is an 800cm X 600cm water resistant worktop, a base unit to match that size and some nice weighty castor wheels. On opening, this gas hob is very different from any that I have previously seen, instead of the metal tops, rings and other parts that tend to have sharp edges and get very greasy all whilst hanging on to the dirt in every nook and cranny. This hob has a lovely sturdy 8mm black glass surface which has very solid and heavy cast iron pan supports over the glass and surrounding the four burners. When it comes to cleaning time, we just remove the pan supports and then using some liquid soap and hot water we just wash the grime away, as the glass surface is built in one piece there is nowhere for the dirty water or grime to get trapped so it all just rinses away leaving a clean and shiny looking hob once more.Along with the main parts that make up this gas hob is a full fixing kit for mounting the hob into a worktop and a second set of gas nozzles, these allow the hob to be used with LPG instead of natural gas which is what I required for using this as a portable cooker, therefore this hob is very versatile without any extra expense.I haven’t yet fully created my masterpiece in the garden however I have managed to test it as a sort of half built unit and so far it seems to be working very nicely.Importantly for using this outside is the ability to keep the flame alight which this hob does using an electric spark that automatically relights the flame should any wind blow it out.At the moment I have only really tested this using the large Wok burner, in time though the other three rings will get good use for cooking the usual BBQ extras such as corn on the cob and sliced onions galore, lol.The only slight downside to using this as I intend is that it doesn’t have a built in lid, that would have been very handy for me to help keep the elements at bay so I do still need to make something suitable in that regards.Overall, this is a great looking, practical and very versatile gas hob which can be used in many different locations such as a camper van, caravan, in the garden or indeed, even in a normal home kitchen, lol.A terrific gas hob at a very fair price for the quality of the build.Recommended.

The first thing one will note when this product arrives is the weight and that is for good reason. Everything about this hob says it is good quality.Once out of the packaging it is so very easy to install. However, although one can legally install a gas hob in one’s own home, if this is for any property that is rented, leased or for business use then the gas regulations are quite strict in that one should pay for a registered gas engineer to do the simple and easy task.Installing this is as easy as preparing the unit top to sit this into. Simply put the base in, remembering to keep the cable freeas that will need plugging in later. Once the base is seated into the unit’s worktop the burners simply pop into place with the supports going on top. Once that is done it is now time to connect it.Unless one has recently built a house or just moved into one then the chances are that you already have an old hob connected to the gas mains. If the pipe is old then a new replacement should be used. It’s just a matter of connecting the two ends of the pipe to the mains and the hob and that is all there is to it.Once the gas is connected the electrical cable can be plugged in to ignite the gas.Now for the product details… this is a very good quality hob that is made mainly of metal. The main metal used is cast iron with what appears to be aluminium and stainless steel. All parts are well produced and strong. The only downside is that the burners are not like commercial ones even though they appear the same. The main pipes are not accessables, which is a positive thing but the burners have very small holes to allow the gas through so cleaning them will need a fine pipe cleaner.Apart from mains gas this hob is so easily converted so it can use bottled gas. Where the gas is released into the burners each one has a small nozzle. The nozzles are easily unscrewed using the included tool and replaced with the LPG nozzles. There is a small connection that converts the gas pipe so LPG bottles can be connected. This is really handy if one wants to use this in a caravan, an out house with no gas supply etc.Using the hob is the same as using any modern hob. The controls won’t work and the gas won’t be released or ignited unless one pushes the knobs in before turning. There is good reason for that and that is simply to avoid accidents such as toddlers playing with knobs and turning a kitchen into a potential death trap.As my images show, the quality and of the metals and the workmanship in producing this hob is very good. This product is great as it is but can also be a good addition to a kitchen with an electric cooker and pne would like a gas hob as well. The reason being that this hob has a “wok” burner, which porduces an intense flame for bringing a wok, or any other pot / pan, up to a high temperature quickly and is the best thing for those that like to do fast cooking, deep frying, Chinese stir fry etc. etc. If you need a lot of heat then the wok burner is the thing you need as electric burners just done make the mark when it comes to high heat rapid cooking.I am recommending this hob because it really is very good quality, it is simple to install, even without looking at the instructions. This is a good value product that will last a long time if looked after. Additionally, if one does have a caravan then one can use this in the home kitchen and when travelling with the caravan one can quickly disconnect this, convert it and set it up in the caravan.
