    Wife loves it, great buy.

I love home cooking, especially bulk cooking such as curries, chili con carne and spag bol to name but a few.Traditionally I have always cooked such recipes in a wok, and let them slow cook over a few hours. And even though the finished item is very satisfactory I became more encouraged to buy a purpose-built slow cooker. But there is so much choice out there I decided to focus on popular brand names, and then to individual models based on reviews from both professional and amateur cooks.Such a simple design, with nothing overly complicated in terms of controls, knobs and the lack of flashy lights and jingly notifications. Yes, it was bigger than I expected, but I’d rather be in that position than struggling with something smaller. The instructions that came with it were straightforward enough, first focusing on the health & safety disclaimers, then how to use the cooker, how to clean it, what to look for in case of problems, and finishing with a couple of pages of recipes.I started my first recipe making a bolognaise sauce, starting with searing the lean beef mince in the removable pan and onto a hob ring. Once that had been done I added a few more ingredients ,gave everything a good stir and then returned the pan to the cooker, plugged it into the mains and set the cook time to “Low” (8-10 hours), and then just let it get on with it.The instructions do say that if you want to give it a stir it will mean adding an extra 10-15 minutes cook time. But I didn’t do this, only stirring it a couple of times throughout the eventual 9 hours, and the finished product was truly excellent. Far better than anything I had cooked from the wok.NOTE:Cleaning was a doddle. But the only thing I would highlight is to make sure the handle on the glass lid is securely fixed, as the screw holding it in was loose. And had I not noticed earlier it could have come away with me ending up with a smashed lid on the floor!Apart from that it was a pleasure to use. Highly recommended!

Great slow cooker easy to use great that the pot can be used on hob so less cleaning !Great size got a good size leg of lamb in.

I needed something light to pick up that works well this does the job. Only snag is if I put a casserole of root Ben it needs to be left on medium not low as the don’t cook through but otherwise I love this so just much. It cleans very easily lightweight good size highly recommended

This really is great.Good volume. We’re a hungry family of 5. It’s big enough for us.It’s really handy to be able to brown your meat on the hob, then transfer to cook low and slow. Then, serve straight to the table as a one-pot.Cleans dead east too.Really pleased with it!

  6. calendula

so far, so good. Needed some adaption of thinking to cook something like a stew or coq au vin but nice to just let it get on with it unlike the other must have machine of the moment to save money. I do have to brown the meal at the end if it needs that doing, in a conventional oven. For the price i paid for this, I wished i had got it before i got the other thing that was 3x dearer and a pain to use. I need to get my act together to get food on earlier in the day and cook on low instead, but there has already been a slight drop in my electric bill already. Just one annoyance is the steam collects around the rim or pops up from the meal and this leaks out onto the worktop.

I Love the lightweight, nonstick coated bowl and being able to remove t from base to sear food on hob first. Its a really good family size.I use silicon or wooden spoons and wash bowl by hand to not scratch nonstick coating.

  8. Lisa hornbuckle

Amazing value so light having had one with a pot in this one is so easy to move and lift and cleaning is so easy

  9. Jo

I took a risk as I wasnt sure how much I would use it, turns out its the best thing I have ever purchased. Super easy to use, makes the most tender meat, we have made a full range of food – gammon joint, stews, curries – all have turned out fab. We are a couple and from a full pot we can usually get 2 big meals and a small portion of lunch for the next day.I purchased this over a ceramic as I was worried about dropping or cracking the pot – so glad I got this one, as its super easy to clean and light to move about
