A delicious hot drink, fast

In addition to its quiet boil technology, it has a rapid boil feature that lets you boil a 235 ml cup of water in just 45 seconds. It’s ideal if you need a hot drink fast or you’re just making one cup. The kettle has a ‘perfect pour’ spout so all of the water goes into the cup with fewer splashes and spills.

Quieter technology

The Russell Hobbs 20460 Buckingham Kettle is designed with quiet boil technology. A special coating on the base plate works with a diffuser ring to break up the bubbles making them smaller. Smaller bubbles mean up to 75 per cent less noise than previous models without this technology so you can enjoy a quieter cuppa, ideal if you are making drinks while people are sleeping or you don’t want to disturb the baby.

1.7 L capacity

With a 1.7 L capacity jug, it’s big enough to make up to seven cups, making it ideal for larger family homes. The Buckingham Kettle has a 360 degree base so it can be comfortably used by right and left-handed people. Also, to keep your work top clutter free, the base has integrated cord storage so it can be tidied away when it’s not in use.

    Living in an open floor apartment, I was looking for a quiet kettle so my husband didn’t have to turn the sound up on the tv everytime I used the kettle.This kettle performs very well, boils a small amiunt very quickly and seems not to attract lime scale like my old kettle.The steel finish is easy to wipe with a damp cloth and the design fits in with any kitchen.Very pleased with my purchase.

    I’ve had mine for over a year and bought another one for a family member. Quick, quiet and reliable. The only thing I would want people to be aware of is this. If you leave cold water in the kettle for a long period of time and allow it to get very cold, a seal inside shrinks and will create a leak.

    I was sceptical at first that this kettle could indeed be quieter- but I can report that it is noticeably quieter when boiling and the built-in cup gauges help to improve efficiency by not boiling half a kettle’s worth of water for two cups of tea. Having said that, I paid attention to them for a day or so and have now returned to just blasting the tap for a few seconds and seeing where it lands.

    So far so good.. had this for a good few months and absolutely no complaints. Boils reasonably fast, lightweight and looks good. I’d searched high and low after my kenwood Kmix got dropped… and pleased that I didn’t need to spend £££ for something that works as well as my kenwood did.

    Bought as a housewarming gift. Person wanted a kettle that wasn’t loud when boiling and this definitely makes the grade. Good size and colour. Easily cleaned and not too heavy a kettle. A little more expensive than some others but worth the money.

    Very nice kettle; quiet and boils quickly. Just a wipe down occasionally and it renews its smart appearance. Had it almost a year and it has got quieter as time has passed, but I do use filtered water (Brita) as the water is quite hard where I live. Highly recommended.
