Best iron I have had and ive now had it several months. For the cost, it’s great value for money. Long cord, glides super smooth, irons really well, just the right weight, not too heavy on my wrists, no leaks. Yes, the plug falls out the storage holes when you move the iron or pick it up as many reviews state. Is that really a reason to write a negative review. Nah. It’s great. Ignore the bad reviews

Glides over any fabric without having to change the temperature manually. The wrap and store cord is a game changer, makes storage so easy. It’s very lightweight. I was worried about seeing the water level as its black, but its clear enough to see easily.

Have had a number of irons over the years. My Breville PressXpress was ok although smoke (not steam, but actual rancid smoke) appeared on a regular basis if any water leaked from the filler hatch. Eventually, after just over a year, it gave up the ghost completely.I then had the Bosch DA30. The downsides, compared to the Breville, were a smaller soleplate, an inadequate space to wrap the cord around at the bottom, plus a small water tank that required regular filling. The upside, I suppose, was that at least it was ‘smokeless’.After the soleplate on the Bosch became coated in grime that I couldn’t remove, and dirty water deposits started affecting the items being ironed, I started a new search. I settled on this Russell Hobbs which was on offer in Amazon Warehouse (described as ‘like new’) for £17. When the iron arrived, aside from the Amazon Warehouse’ sticker attached to the box, it was indeed unused and in perfect unopened nick. After using it for a few weeks, I have to say it is one of the best irons I have used. The tank is a decent size, the cord a decent length, the continuous steam is sufficient, there are no leaks, it glides across clothes, it’s a good weight, and the large cord wrap facility is great. If I had one gripe it is the tiny filler jug that accompanies the iron. It has a capacity of about 100ml, which is crazy when the iron can hold 320ml. No big deal though as I just use the jug from one of my old irons. For £17, this iron was a bargain. I would still say that, even at full price of c.£27, it is a great buy.
