I have got a ninja air fryer but limited as not able to cook multiple items (wouldn’t be without it though). So I bought this one at a fraction of the price in addition to the ninja. Can’t fault it, looks smart, cooks multiple meals and very easy to use plus it’s easy to clean. Would highly recommend

After speaking to a few people we know about air fryers, I got an idea of what might work for us and this Cookwise 9l air fryer fit the bill. I dithered for a while as there is so much choice out there, but the large capacity rectangular trays, light, pre-set functions, maximum temperature, and the great reviews got me to press the ‘buy now’ button and now we wouldn’t be without it. It hasn’t replaced the oven as I still use that for batch baking, but it’s a great addition to our kitchen as it is so easy and fast, food is cooked really evenly, and fish and chicken retains moisture. Looks good on the worktop too.

I must admit I have been putting off buying an air fryer for well over a year. They seemed complicated and difficult. I couldn’t get my head around what they actually do – do they fry, how do they fry without oil? How do you get the right cooking setting?Prompted by a recommendation from elsewhere I finally decided to take the plunge and bought this model. I particularly liked the size, the fact that there are windows in both drawers and a light so you can see how things are going without opening them, there is a sync feature (like the Ninja), and best of all, it’s MUCH cheaper than a ninja of this size. To be fair, this model only goes to 200 degrees so it doesn’t get as hot as a ninja and I guess that will make a slight difference when cooking steaks etc.So, how has it been? The machine has various pre-sets. I was initially a bit nervous about these, as how would they know the size of the food portion and whether it was the correct setting? Once I started to use the air fryer the simplicity dawned on me. What you have here is two little ovens. For each, independently, you set the temperature (like an oven) and the cooking time. However, thanks to the light and the windows on the doors, you just keep an eye on whatever you are cooking and, as you would with a regular oven, if something isn’t quite cooked, you put it on for a bit longer. If it is ready before you expected, you stop the air fryer and remove it then. It’s that simple, almost blindingly obvious now I have one. There is a match button that will set the same settings for each drawer (so if you are cooking two drawers of the same thing at the same time), and a smart button, which will automatically ensure that both drawers finish at the same time (so if you had set drawer 1 to cook for 10 minutes and drawer 2 for 20, drawer 1 will not start until drawer 2 is down to 10 minutes left. Simple!) The one thing I didn’t see in the instructions is if you finish earlier than planned, you pause the cooking and then to “stop” it and reset the airfryer, you hold down the power button in the middle for a couple of seconds. So in terms of what we have cooked, I did a veggie roast dinner on the first day. Great. Roasted butternut squash chunks and other root veg, roast potatoes etc. Frozen onion rings were also excellent. Much better than in the regular oven where they tend to dry out. Cheese on toast is a revelation! You can’t burn the bread (unlike when I use a grill) – and so you end up with proper golden cheese without any acrid smoke.I did a steak and that was juicy and tender – though I struggled to get it to cook rare – which may be because of the 200 degree limit – or just my lack of practice. But it tasted delicious. Bacon is also brilliant. Pop it in for about 10 minutes and it comes out crisp, cooking fat free and delicious. Frozen things seem to reheat so much better than in the big oven as well. I could go on, but so far everything has been excellent and genuinely better in most cases than our big oven which I have barely used. I have only used the big oven for casseroles where I need to cook for a long time – and that’s mainly because I haven’t yet found a casserole dish with a lid that would fit one of the drawers. The non-stick surface is very easy to clean. There is a little non stick tray in each which allows the fat to drain off. Everything tastes so much better and I’m saving a fortune on extra virgin olive oil – as well as saving lots of calories. Finally, the unit looks really smart. It is quite big, so you do need enough space but measure up and see what you can do. It fits easily under my units on my kitchen worktop and even my wife, who was not keen on having another thing “cluttering up the kitchen” has had to admit that it actually looks good.Add to all this the quicker cooking time, convenience, no need to wait to heat up the big oven, the energy savings, it has been a superb buy. After I ordered I read some of the negative reviews and I must admit I was wondering if I had made a big mistake. Well I haven’t – and I know that if something did go wrong, Amazon customer service is always excellent. When I bought it, it was on offer and it cost me just over £105. I love it- and highly recommend! There are loads of pages of how to cook in your air fryer – but for most things – you just put it in, turn it on, and monitor until it is cooked. Just like your oven. Don’t be fooled into thinking it’s “hard” to cook with one. It really isn’t!

This is a great airfryer, I’m really pleased with it.There are several useful pre-set programs, and each one can be modified so it suits everything. The baskets are a great size, with removable racks in the bottom for cooking roast potatoes etc.The baskets and racks are both dishwasher safe which is great. There’s a handy smart feature so if you are cooking two things with different cooking tines, they are adjusted to finish at the same timeThe viewing window are so useful, especially as there’s a light so you don’t need to disturb the cooking. The baskets heat up very quickly so it is super efficient, I can’t remember the last time I used my main oven. The only downside for me is the size, it’s quite cumbersome so it stays in the utility room but I font suppose that can be helped.

If I’m honest when it arrived I hadn’t realised quite how big it is. However that is down to me not the description. Easy to use simple instructions. Cooks extremely quickly and efficiently. Runs quietly. Great value for money and quick delivery. Would recommend.😊

To be honest, first I thought, being a bit old fashioned why should I need an airfryer? So some years passed and now I became curios and got one. I decided to buy this one from Cookwise due to the two drawers, large capacity and it should be easy to use. And yes, it is easy to use. First I missed a kind of wee cookbook, however with a few clicks online you will find far more than needed. I learned to experiment a bit, are the potatoes larger or smaller, the chicken bigger, or more veggies, and made my own indivual notes for my favourite dishes. We use this airfryer now every day, sometimes twice a day. Beside all types of chicken, potatoes, wedges, fries, you can prepare excellent veggies, salmon, meatballs, steaks and far more – it is truely amazing. We even made delicious scones and muffins. To use this fryer as best as possible I would recommend to buy extra silicone baskets or different layer rack sets, same as a kind of backing paper. The fryer is easy to clean. Even it is said it would be dishwasher safe, I would recommend, just place the rack in warm water for a while and gently clean it with a cloth. Sometimes dishwasher tabs can be very aggresive and the metal will start to rost soon after several uses. And to be honest, it’s not a big deal to clean it by hand.It would be great Cookwise would offer accessoires and replacement racks to buy.We are very happy with this fryer from cookwise and would buy it again!

  7. Jamie maguire

Ive had a few air fryers over the years and this is up there with the best the 2 draws are really handy and you can set different times and temperatures, there is also a delay button so your food can be done at the same time which is good. It beeps half way through cooking to remind you to shake or turn your food and when its finished it beeps and stops cooking which has been helpful when if like me to forget to check the time lol. All in all its a good size and i have no issues with it i would recommend and i would buy again.

  8. Bunty

I already had an air fryer but liked the look of this one with 2 equal sized drawers, my old one had one big and one little drawer which was frustrating. This was good value for money. It works really well and once I read the instructions, easy to use. I always handwashing my air fryer drawers and this is very easy clean. It has individual temperature and time controls and I love the fact that it reminds me when to shake and I can keep an eye on things through the glass front. I would recommend this product.

I’ve had this air fryer for a few months now and I have been very happy with it. It does exactly what I need it to do without any fuss. The functions on the fryer are extremely simple to use. Food is also cooked perfectly (as long as you follow the cooking guidelines). I’ve already recommended this to my family and friends. Great price too!

  10. Jack Beacher

Looked at the branded ones ninja etc but decided to give this one a go and don’t regret it. Cooks wonderfully and fairly large drawers. Use it twice a week or more so it gets used a lot. Only downside is the glass is sandwiched so you can’t really get to it to clean it properly. Well worth the money, highly recommend👍
