10 reviews for Hoover Upright Vacuum Cleaner, Breeze Evo with Long Reach and Pet Tool, Green [TH31PFB001]

  1. Mrs. S. J. Town

Was a bit wary as very cheap compared with other top models. Have a cordless Shark and GTech and 3 dogs, 2 with long hair. The shark is rubbish as is always getting blocked after a short time and cuts out. ( although my daughter swears by her corded one). The GTech was slightly better but suction not very good. When the GTech packed up, wondered what to do. Absolutely convinced that corded models have much greater suction so decided to take a chance and ordered this Hoover. Great decision, amazing how much it picks up. There are 4 levels of suction so can also hoover my shaggy rugs on the lowest suction. The only drawbacks so far: instructions not good as to how to attach tools, need to look at picture on box. Although easy to detach bin, make sure you emty it outside over dustbin as dust goes everywhere also found that had to remove the top as dog hair wrapped round the filter and found it a little awkward to empty and put back together (was considering knocking off a star for this) but overall great value and not as heavy as a lot of corded models.

I’ve had a lot of vacuum cleaners over the years and my last one – a Shark was a great disappointment so this time we went for a Hoover eco model. Absolutely delighted with it as the suction and weight is right where it’s needed – on the floor and not at the top of the handle. It looks heavy but it is not, it’s actually quite light to manoeuvre so it’s been a great choice and the price was perfect.

Eight years ago, when I moved into my current house, I bought a reconditioned one of these (older model) as I have two dogs and I had new carpets. Over the last eight years, after my late staffy/lurcher passed, I (foolishly!) got a lab cross who malts like a bear!! My Hoover battled valiantly over the last five years with twice a week work-outs on hair laden carpets, having been attacked and mauled by the new puppy and was held together by tape in the end where I trod on the power cable in a particularly over-enthusiastic bout of vacuuming which left it with a loose connection going into the machine. When it finally couldn’t take anymore, it was because – once again – I stood on the power cable and broke the connection beyond repair. The machine itself was still going strong! I immediately hit Amazon hunting for the same model. I am delighted to say that it hasn’t disappointed – it’s extremely effective on pet hair, quieter than my late model and still light enough for me to be able to use it on the stairs as I did my old one. Throw in a very reasonable price, and you really cannot got wrong with this upright!

This is a machine easy to operate and clean, representing good value. Assembly of the handle is straightforward. Remove the white tape at the back of the handle and unscrew the bolt. Handle fixes into place and thread the bolt through the hole in the handle to secure with a screwdriver or coin. The bottom left pedal releases the machine to vacuum. The bottom right hand pedal switches the machine on and off after switching on at the mains. Above the drum/cylinder collecting the dust is a button to release above the container; you twist anti-clockwise to empty. A thin black rubber strip is supplied; you slide it through the bottom of the machine to help wth dirt pick-up. Recommended to clean after five uses. The two filters, one in the drum and one below the machine need monthly clean. Upright is ideal for older person. It’s a very efficient machine; happy to recommend because it’s easy to clean.

This is the second purchase, I liked the first one so much I had to get another. Now I have one upstairs and one downstairs. I’ve not been sponsored to say nice things about this Hoover, I’m just genuinely thrilled with it. I’ve been using a Vax cordless upright vacuum for about 15 years and have been happy with it, but it conked out, so obviously went to buy another, or at least something similar but nooo, they don’t make cordless uprights anymore, at least none that I can find that’s actually any good. The absolute last thing I wanted to go back to was a corded one, no way, not going to happen, I refuse. So I got a stick vac, and omg, what a useless bit of expensive equipment that was. It was a glorified DustBuster on a stick, so I was forced to get a corded vacuum and I chose this for a few reasons. 1. It’s a Hoover, so now, when I say I’m just going to hoover the living room, it’s actually correct terminology haha. 2. It was over half the price of the useless stick vac. 3. It’s got an extra long stretchy hose that does all of my stairs without having to lift the machine halfway up and balance it precariously on the edge of the stairs while I hold it with my foot. (I have 13 steps) The suction is great, I have a cat, and he likes to spread his litter around so it’s like walking on a beach, this sucks it up with no effort at all. The attachments are super handy, and the suction is still great with the hose on with the long crevice tool. I only have two negative things to say, it’s not slim enough to get under my bed like my old vax cordless, but it’s not that much of a problem, and the mesh filter that comes apart for cleaning feels a bit flimsy like I’m going to break it when I’m cleaning it (I bought a spare just in case) but apart from that, I’m super happy with it, so much so, my friend also got one! I should work for the company!

On the whole the Hoover Upright Vacuum Cleaner, Breeze Evo is very good. It cleans well and is easy to use. There are different settings, so if you feel tired, you can use the upright on number 4, which glides over the carpet easily. Number 3 will clean better, but is slightly harder to push around. Number 2 setting is good for things that don’t take well to being vacuumed, for example a door mat or lino flooring. So far so good.Although the long hose is supposed to reach the top of the stairs, it in fact doesn’t. On the very top it produces a horrible whining noise, which probably doesn’t signify anything good. The pictures imply that the long hose can be stored on the body of the vacuum, but I don’t see how. You have to store it separately. Not a big deal. You don’t get any attachments with the vacuum, except a crevice tool and the 2-in-1. I don’t find the 2-in- useful for anything. Fortunately, some attachments from my old vacuum fit otherwise I would have to spend further 25 quid or so.The vacuum is rather noisy whith a whining sound. I am not bothered, but someone else might find it irritating.

I was very impressed by this cleaner which I bought to replace a Panasonic unit which I’ve had 27 years! It’s very lightweight and the long suction hose makes doing the stairs very easy. I’ve never been a fan of the stick vacuum cleaners which are top heavy in my opinion so I prefer to stick with the traditional floor mounted motor. At only £80 an absolute bargain.

Best hoover ever for the price ….not a dog hair to be found!!!🥳

  9. stephanie carr

I’ve struggled for a while to get a hoover which makes my carpets actually feel clean. I have a spaniel who malts a lot and used to spend a lot of time with the hand held lint remover on my carpets to get the hairs up. My purchase came at the weekend and used it today, I couldn’t believe how much fluff and hair it picked up. I have 2 new carpets and still it made them look fresh and tidy. For the price I think this is a brilliant purchase, lots of attachments and easy to use on the stairs. 5* from me (and my spaniel)
