Having had another Philips for some 15 yrs , fianlly needed changing initially bought the Russell Hobbs Steam Power Generator Iron , sorry to say that is not a good product. Returned to Amazon and prrchased this one and have to say its a great product , fairly light and compact and works very well. I especially like that it prevents clothes from getting burnt. I highly recommend it!

A good replacement for our old one which served us well and for a long time. Useful features include ability to lock actual iron down so it doesn’t slip around whilst moving it and the steam feed (lead) is easily clipped in place when being stored.

What a wonderful iron. With many features that give piece of mind: such as the auto off to prevent burn or fire. A light iron that moves like silk and steam that blows like a tornado. My mother was overjoyed with this gift. It has a high price tag, but you will not regret as this saves you hours of time.

I was spoilt for choice when deciding to replace an old steam generator iron, so opted for a middle of the road price wise. I does what it is supposed to do, but the bonus for me was the light weight compared to my previous very heavy model.

This is the second Philips steam generator iron I have bought, & have been extremely happy with them ( first one was the Purple perfect care one).Initially I was unsure about how effective the Optimal Temperature system would be. But have been pleasantly surprised, It does adjust according to fabric ( although 100%cotton shirts need extra steam to remove creases).Iron itself is lightweight & glides easily over clothes. Reservoir is great, saves repeated refills when doing shirts& bedding.Only slight drawback is length of cable, is fine for me, but can see how it would cause problems for some ( or use of extension cable).All told, I feel it is worth the money, and I had my previous one for 5+ years.

When I purchased, I thought this would just be another bit of kit that lounges around and doesn’t get used very often. However, it is so easy to iron with this, it actually makes the task a pleasure.The only problem I have with this is putting the cords away. It’s tricky when the iron is still warm. The base where the cord goes is tight and hard to slip the cord into. Do not let this put you off thought.There is no noise from this product.The appearance of the screams luxury.This iron can be a little heavy when filled with water.I think this iron is good value.
